Setting Up Your Irrevocable Living Trust

An Irrevocable Trust, or Irrevocable Living Trust, is generally set up to protect assets for family members, such as children, until they reach certain ages. Assets gifted to the trust will ultimately be excluded from the Grantor’s taxable estate. Trustees are appointed to oversee the investment and expenditures of funds during the term of the trust. Life insurance is often put into this type of trust to avoid estate taxes.
